A hill-station hospitality brief where the cooling system has to know when to blend in and when to step in.
Guests come to WGH for the climate as much as for the food. A humid afternoon in May feels nothing like a misty morning in November, and the system has to read both. We standardised on a VRF backbone across suites, conference halls and back-of-house, with individual room control and after-hours zoning so the comfort factor appropriately reflects the premium hospitality guests expect. The same standard now runs across three sites: the hill property at Thekkady, the head office at Edappally, and the airport-side property at Nedumbassery.

Devyani International Outlets
Multiple sites, Kerala·Ongoing partnership
A QSR runs on two clocks: dining and kitchen. Both depend on cooling that cannot fail.
Devyani International runs KFC, Pizza Hut and Costa Coffee outlets across Kerala, and each brand puts a different load on the same building. The dining clock cares about how the room feels in the first fifteen seconds after a guest walks in. The kitchen clock cares about whether tonight's stock is still safe at two in the morning. We design each outlet around both: split commercial AC sized for peak walk-in load on the floor, walk-in coolers with redundant compressors at the back, and kitchen-grade extraction that pulls fryer and oven heat away from the line without dragging cool air with it.

A reefer truck is only as good as its weakest mile. Cargo has to arrive at the same temperature it left.
Our Bus and Reefer division at Kalamassery handles the full chain: in-house body fabrication, branded TRU installation as authorised partners for Carrier Transicold and Thermo King, and roadside response anywhere in South India. The body work focuses on high insulation, low air leakage, sliding strip curtains that reduce air exchange, route-suited temperature range, and easy-opening doors that operators can close quickly during delivery work.

Seafood does not forgive a warm hour. The chain has to hold from the processing floor to the tail lift.
A seafood house runs several temperatures at once: a chilled processing floor that people work in all day, freezer rooms holding finished stock, and a despatch bay where the door opens every few minutes. Each one fails differently. We treat the building as one chain rather than a set of separate rooms, so the despatch bay does not bleed the cold rooms every time a vehicle loads, and the reefer bodies leaving the yard start their run at temperature instead of pulling down on the road.

Hospitals and Diagnostic Centres

In a hospital, air conditioning stops being comfort equipment the moment a theatre door closes.
Wards, waiting areas and clinical rooms sit in the same building but answer to different rules. Public areas are judged on comfort and noise. Clinical areas are judged on air changes, filtration and pressure relationships that have to hold whether the corridor outside is empty at three in the morning or full at eleven. The work spans Kinder Hospital at Pathadipalam, B&B Memorial Hospital at Thrikkakara and Metro Scan at Thiruvananthapuram, and each sets its own band: paediatric and maternity rooms hold steadier and quieter than a general ward, and imaging suites are equipment rooms first and patient rooms second. Planning them means separating those duties early, then building a maintenance rhythm that can be carried out without closing the areas that depend on it.

Kalamassery, Kochi·Salon floor cooling
A salon floor runs hot in a way the floor plan does not admit to.
Dryers, styling irons and downlights all dump heat at head height, right where the client is sitting, and the room still has to feel calm rather than draughty. Cooling a salon is less about raw capacity than about where the air lands: throw aimed away from the chairs, enough air change to clear product vapour without a noticeable breeze, and quiet operation because the room is a conversation for an hour at a time.

Churches and Cathedrals

A church is not just a hall. It is a space that breathes with the calendar.
Sunday mass, weekday catechism and feast days each carry a different cooling load, and a nave with a vaulted ceiling behaves nothing like the office it is often sized as. Across St John's Cathedral at Thiruvalla, Anary Church and Anaprampal Mar Thoma Church we have worked to the same brief: zoned layouts that handle peak congregational density without intrusive noise during services, throw and diffuser placement chosen so nobody in the front pews sits in a draught, and setback schedules that keep energy honest on quieter days. The result is a system that responds to the rhythm of the parish, not just the thermometer.

Education and IT Campus

A campus and an IT park behind one gate, running on two completely different occupancy patterns.
Teaching blocks fill and empty on a timetable. An IT floor holds a steady load from morning until late, and the server rooms behind it never stand down at all. Cooling a shared campus means reading those patterns separately instead of averaging them: classroom and auditorium zones that can be set back hard between sessions, office floors held steady through the working day, and equipment rooms treated as critical rather than comfort load.

The brief was simple. The owner did not want to think about it.
Every cooling decision after that traced back to that one line. We routed a VRF backbone through service corridors so no plant is visible from any living space, fitted slim-line cassettes in each room so the architecture stays the lead, and consolidated control so the household does not chase remotes from room to room. The system stays in the background the way good infrastructure should.
