What is precision cooling and how is it different from comfort cooling?
Precision cooling maintains tight temperature and humidity bands continuously, usually around ±1°C and plus or minus 5 percent relative humidity. Comfort AC is designed around human comfort, not mission-critical equipment, so it cycles more loosely and cannot protect sensitive IT or process environments in the same way.
What types of environments need precision cooling?
Server rooms, data centres, telecom rooms, network operations centres, banking hubs, UPS rooms, medical imaging support spaces, and temperature-sensitive process environments all benefit from precision cooling. If a short environmental drift can interrupt operations or damage equipment, standard comfort AC is usually not enough.
What is N+1 redundancy and does HRS design for it?
N+1 redundancy means one extra cooling unit is installed beyond the actual calculated requirement. If one unit fails, the spare capacity carries the room without downtime.
